Techbud.Net, Full-Serve Tech

For tech pros

Get paid on time, for work you did not have to chase.

Techbud.Net sends you local customers who have already been screened and have already agreed to a price. We collect the money before you start, so the awkward part of the job is handled before you knock on the door.

Why bother with us

  • The money is already collected

The customer pays Techbud.Net before work starts. No invoicing, no chasing, no check in the mail that never arrives.

  • Real jobs, not leads

We do not sell your details to five people at once. When we send you a job, it is yours, and the customer is expecting your call.

  • No monthly fee to be listed

We keep 15% of a completed job, or $15, whichever is the larger. A quiet month costs you nothing at all.

What it costs

One payment to join, then a share of the jobs you actually get paid for. Nothing else, ever.

$45

once, to join

One payment of $45 when you are accepted, which pays for your background check. That is what the check costs us and we do not add anything to it. You are not charged it again.

15%

of each completed job

Or $15, whichever is the larger. Covers card processing, holding the funds until the customer signs off, your yearly re-check, and a person on the phone when something goes wrong.

  • No monthly feeA month with no work costs you nothing.
  • No charge per leadYou are never billed for an inquiry that goes nowhere.
  • No listing feeYour profile stays up whether you are busy or not.
  • The $45 is at costIt is what the background check costs us. We do not make anything on it, and we do not charge it twice.
  • A $15 floor on our shareOn a small job, 15% does not cover what it costs us to stand behind it. On anything over $100 the floor never applies.
  • Paid within 2 business daysOnce the customer confirms the job was done right, the money is on its way to you.
  • You set your own ratesWe never tell you what to charge, and we never discount your work to win a job.

Want to stand out?

Optional, and entirely separate from the 15%. A promoted spot moves you up the page. It does not change our vetting, and we will not rank you above a pro who is a better fit for the customer’s actual problem.

Every promoted listing carries a ★ Promoted label. We will never take money to hide the fact that you paid.

You have to be a listed, background-checked pro first. We do not sell placement to anyone we have not met.

How the money moves

  1. You look at the job and give the customer a price.
  2. The customer accepts, and pays Techbud.Net. Not you. Us.
  3. We tell you the money is in hand. You go and do the work.
  4. The customer confirms they are happy. If they say nothing, funds release automatically after 3 days.
  5. We pay you within 2 business days, less our 15%.

If there is a disagreement

We do not simply hand the money back. You did the work, and our job is to get you paid for it. We get on the phone with the customer, find out what they actually expected, and work toward a number both of you can live with: a full release, a partial one, or a return visit.

A customer who is unhappy for a real reason gets taken seriously. A customer who is trying to get free work does not. We have seen both, and we will tell you plainly which one we think we are looking at.

What we ask of you

The crown in our logo sits over the u because the customer is the one in charge. These are the rules that make that true rather than just a slogan.

  • Pass a background check

Before you are listed, and once a year after. Your joining fee covers the first one and we cover every re-check after that. No exceptions, however long you have been doing this.

  • Quote before you start

The customer knows the price before you touch anything. If the job turns out bigger, you stop and call them before carrying on.

  • Answer within one working day

Or tell us you are full. Either is fine. Silence is not.

  • Never sell what is not needed

No upselling antivirus subscriptions to someone who does not need one. This is the fastest way off the list.

  • Explain it in plain words

Our customers are often nervous about this stuff. Talking down to them is a complaint we act on.

  • Leave a written note

What you did, in language they can read back later. It takes two minutes and it is the thing customers mention most.

  • Everything you tell us has to be true

Your experience, your certifications, your insurance, your rates, and your account of what happened on a job. Giving us false information is grounds for removal on its own, and it applies to customers just as much as it does to you.

Apply to be listed

This takes about five minutes. Nothing is published automatically. We will want to meet you first.

Leave blank if you trade under your own name.
Which towns will you travel to?Tick everywhere you are happy to take a job.
What do you handle? Only tick what you are genuinely comfortable being called about.
What you would charge a residential customer. You can change this later.
A+, Apple, Microsoft, Ubiquiti, and so on. Leave blank if none. We list plenty of pros without them.
A few sentences we can show customers. What you are good at, and what it is like to have you in the house.
How do you work? Each of these is listed separately on your profile, because customers care a lot about the difference.
Do you make housecalls?
Do you help over a video call, talking the customer through it?
Do you carry liability insurance?
